I know I'm super late on this lol but this is crazy because for the next two books Pax's death is such an important motivation for characters like Darrow and Mustang, and in the grand scheme of the battle with the alliance with the Telemanuses. So, to think it was random and another character like Sevro, Mustang, or Cassius could've died instead and the story would've been entirely different is insane to me
Hope you can forward this to Pierce if you ever can. Like to let you know i went to comic con few years back in Texas, where they had your book Red rising, and some other one. I was like cool free book, giving them out i believe early before general pubic got them. So i put your book on the back burner for several years, afterwards since i consumed 40+ books last year including the entire Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, and Black Company by Glen Cook. Been pretty starved from that, then i remember going on an image board i go on, and people were dropping praise for this book called Red Rising. So it got my curious and few months later actually got down and reading the book, and absolutely feel in love with this series! I regret never getting into this book sooner, but i will for sure be a life fan of Pierce works
